01Who we are

PROFESSOR GROUP MEDIA LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at craftkindred.com under the Craft Kindred brand and sells the goods offered through the website. PROFESSOR GROUP MEDIA LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy.

By using our website or placing an order, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. Terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meaning as in our Terms and Conditions unless defined differently below.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

When you place an order, contact customer service, or sign up for our emails, you may give us:

  • your name, shipping address and billing address;
  • your email address and phone number;
  • your order contents, including any gift message or delivery note;
  • payment details, which are collected and processed by our payment providers rather than stored by us (see Payment information);
  • anything else you choose to tell us in an email, a review, or a customer service conversation.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, when you visit us our servers and analytics tools record technical information sent by your browser. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring page, the pages you view on our site, the time and date of your visit, and how long you spend on each page.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from our payment processors (for example whether a payment was approved or declined and the result of fraud checks), from shipping carriers (delivery status and address corrections), and from advertising and analytics partners who help us understand how people find our site.

03How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • process, fulfil and deliver your order, and send you order confirmations, shipping notices and tracking;
  • answer your questions and provide customer service, including handling returns and refunds;
  • screen orders for fraud, chargebacks and other risk, and to comply with our legal obligations;
  • maintain records of transactions, tax and accounting as the law requires;
  • improve our products, our website and our service, including understanding which pages and products people find useful;
  • send you marketing about our products where you have asked to receive it or where we are otherwise permitted to (see Marketing emails).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.

04How we share your information

We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do a job for us, and only for that job. These typically include:

  • Payment processors and gateways, to authorise and settle your payment and to run fraud checks;
  • Fulfilment centres and shipping carriers, to pick, pack and deliver your parcel;
  • Email and customer service platforms, so we can send order notifications and reply to you;
  • Analytics and advertising providers, to measure site performance and the effectiveness of our advertising;
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, auditors and lawyers, where required.

These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform the services we've asked them to perform, and are obliged not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, subpoena, or other legal process; where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of business assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to ensure the information remains protected.

05Payment information

Card numbers, expiry dates and security codes are transmitted directly to our payment processors over an encrypted connection. We do not store full card numbers or security codes on our servers. Our processors handle that data under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

We do retain a record of each transaction — the amount, date, the last four digits of the card and whether it succeeded — so that we can service your order, process refunds, and keep proper accounts.

06Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. We and our providers use them to keep your session and cart working, remember your preferences, understand how our site is used, and measure our advertising.

Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is being set. If you block or delete cookies, parts of our site — including checkout — may not work correctly. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

07Marketing emails and messages

If you've bought from us or asked to hear from us, we may email you about new batches, restocks and occasional offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly.

Transactional messages — order confirmations, shipping notices, delivery problems, refund confirmations and replies from customer service — are not marketing, and you'll continue to receive those for as long as they're relevant to your order.

08How long we keep your information

We keep order and transaction records for as long as we need them to service the order and then for as long as tax, accounting and consumer-protection law requires. Customer service correspondence is kept while it's useful for supporting you. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Analytics data is generally retained in aggregated or de-identified form.

09Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep;
  • object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing;
  • ask us to transfer your information to you or another provider in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where we relied on consent, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it.

If you are a California resident, you may also request disclosure of the categories of personal information we've collected, used and disclosed, and you have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. As noted above, we do not sell personal information.

To make any of these requests, email support@craftkindred.com from the address you ordered with. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we'll respond within the period required by the law that applies to you.

10How we protect your information

We value the trust you place in us and use commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, restricted access to systems that hold personal data, and vetting of the providers we work with.

No method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do take any suspected incident seriously and will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

11International transfers

We operate internationally and use service providers in several countries, which means your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in a country other than your own, including countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live. Where we transfer personal information out of a region that restricts such transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

12Links to other websites

Our site may link to websites we don't operate. If you click through, you leave our site and this policy no longer applies. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party site, and we'd encourage you to read their policy before sharing anything with them.

13Children's privacy

Our website and products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we've collected information from a child under 13, we'll delete it from our systems. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll take care of it.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we'll post the revised version on this page and update the "last updated" date above. Material changes take effect when posted, so it's worth reviewing this page periodically.

15How to contact us

Questions, requests or complaints about this policy or about how we handle your information can go to support@craftkindred.com. Postal addresses for our offices are listed on our contact page.
